GUIDES & ANSWERS

Work type breakdown

Select an existing custom field and compare committed assigned/required capacity by its raw values.

Which field contains your work type?

  1. Open Settings → Work type field.
  2. Select the existing Jobber job custom field containing your work-type definition. The selector lists the available saved field definitions; it is not restricted to numeric/boolean capacity fields.
  3. Review Field values and Save changes. There is no category interpretation or second value mapping. Choose None — do not display a work type to turn it off.

What does Capacity by Work Type show?

On Daily, open Capacity by Work Type to reveal its tiles; it starts collapsed. Weekly shows one shared heading and divider below the main KPIs, with work-type tiles aligned by day. Waitlisted visits are excluded. Each distinct nonblank raw value on included committed visits gets a compact tile. Its ratio is sum of assigned capacity / sum of required capacity, using the same visit calculations as the main dashboard.

Illustrative example: two committed Housekeeping visits show 3/5 and 4/6 → their work-type tile shows 7/11. A waitlisted Housekeeping visit contributes to neither side.

The same value combines across recurring and one-off jobs. Different spelling or case stays separate. Waitlisted, unknown-status and excluded visits do not enter the breakdown.

Why is a work type missing?

No field selected or no nonblank committed values means no work-type summary section. A blank value produces no invented Unknown category and no footer tag.

Field values are shown exactly as supplied, without translation. Refresh after editing Jobber; if a field was replaced, select its new definition. Work type is separate from both Waitlisted status and recurring/one-off job type.
