What do the eight KPIs mean?
Demand and Assigned Capacity sum visit-level units; Total Workforce counts unique eligible workers. Assigned Capacity can count the same worker again on another visit. The compact Unassigned KPI sums each committed visit’s Missing count; Available remains the peak-time estimate. Comitted shows committed requirements only.
| KPI | Calculation |
|---|---|
| Total Demand | Committed requirements + waitlisted requirements. Subtitle: Comitted + Waitlisted. |
| Comitted | Sum of effective requirements for included committed visits. |
| Assigned | Sum of configured assigned contributions on included committed visits. |
| Unassigned | Sum of max(0, required − assigned) for each committed visit. |
| Available | Eligible workforce minus unique eligible field workers occupied by committed visits at peak concurrent committed required demand. |
| Waitlisted | Sum of effective total requirements for included waitlisted visits. |
| Double Booked | Unique field workers assigned to overlapping timed visits, across committed and waitlisted groups. |
| Total Workforce | Unique active, available-in-roster Field workers not explicitly ineligible for scheduling. |
How is Missing calculated?
Illustrative example A: visit A requires 5 and has assigned capacity 3 → Missing 2. Visit B requires 2 and has assigned capacity 1 → Missing 1. Daily Missing is 3. Overstaffing a different visit does not erase either gap.
Illustrative example B: committed demand 9 and waitlisted demand 100 → Total Demand 109. The waitlisted 100 does not become committed demand or reduce Available at Peak.
A marker defines a total target. Adding three workers to a target of five means Assigned 3 and Total required 5, not a requirement of eight. Visit cards show these as separate counts; assigned/required ratios appear in the work-type summary. Waitlisted Capacity is a total, not a ratio.
Peak availability and incomplete data
Peak is selected by greatest concurrent committed required demand. Ties choose fewer free eligible workers, then the earliest interval. If all demand is zero, committed occupancy can still select the busiest interval; with no occupancy the full workforce is available.
Intervals use start-inclusive/end-exclusive overlap: a visit ending at 11:00 does not overlap one starting at 11:00. All-day or invalid/missing times cannot participate in timed overlap calculations, although otherwise included demand can still contribute to daily totals.
Canceled/deleted/archived visits are excluded. Completed visits and archived jobs are excluded from current/future staffing demand but can remain historical data. Unknown values are flagged; totals can be partial. This is a planning estimate, not verified shifts, attendance or travel availability.
